Distribution: Washington; Alaska to Bay Area, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire; Canada.

Habitat: Boreal and western forest.

Substrate: On spruce, pine and Douglas-fir.

Conservation Status: Not of concern

Description:
General:

Thallus pale to dark brown or olive, not reddish, base lighter in color; Main branches terete or flattened at axils, 0.3-0.4 mm thick, to 15 cm in length; Soralia white, tuberculate or fissural.
